PRECIOUS DAUGHTER

I’m feeling quite nostalgic these days as I think of the Lovely ladies in my life; past and present, near and far. Girlfriends from my childhood; a girlfriend from high school;  girlfriends in Michigan, girlfriends from Kensington Community Church, girlfriends from Mountaintop Community Church, girlfriends from Chick Chat and girlfriends from the theatre program at my daughters school.

Last night at a2 Church we launched our first ever girlfriend event called Lovely.  I met some beautiful new girlfriends as we enjoyed a wonderful dinner with lovely music and lively conversations, which sparked a yearning in my heart to somehow reconnect with all of the girlfriends who have crossed my path. I wrote a poem years ago for a sick friend. I imagined God speaking these poetic words to her; to you and to me.  Each one of you are precious to me, but most importantly, you are precious to God.

PRECIOUS DAUGHTER

Precious daughter of mine
Your beauty is deeper as I refine.
Your spirit is full of joy and love
Your heart is filled with life from above;
Precious Daughter of mine.

Give to Me all of you
And trust in Me as you do.
I will keep you from all harm
I will keep you safe and warm;
Precious daughter of mine.

Heed My words and My voice,
Listen to My angels rejoice
Lift up your eyes to heaven and see
All that My glory is to be;
Precious daughter of mine.

Each one of you are Precious Daughters of God, and you are very important to me.  Whether we spoke yesterday or ten years of yesterdays, I think of you fondly. I will always be grateful for our time together; and I look forward to plenty of todays and tomorrows.

Peace be with you.

Julia
